If approved, the agreement will be effective for three years, from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2028, with an automatic renewal provision for an additional three years. This agreement is intended to reimburse or cover Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District for the costs it incurs in providing services to communities in Sierra County, California, in the areas of Verdi and Long Valley. Under this agreement, Sierra County will pay Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District $49,440 for FY26; $50,428 for FY27; and $51,437 for FY28, with a 3% cost increase each following year unless the parties negotiate an updated cost. TMP-10159 19. Action ItemRecommendation to adopt Resolution TM09-2025 adopting the 2025 Washoe County Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan. The Federal Emergency Management Agency requires that each jurisdiction adopt a Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan on a 5-year cycle. An updated plan was produced with experts from the various public safety disciplines throughout the County as well as private businesses and citizens. Participating partner agencies include the following: City of Sparks, City of Reno, Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, Truckee River Flood Management Project, North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District. Adoption of this plan is necessary to enable the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District to receive Federal Emergency Management Agency Hazard Mitigation grant funds.
