Possible action to adopt the Business Impact Statement for the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District Permit and Service Fee Schedule increase, with a finding based on staff’s recommendation that the proposed fee increases will not impose a direct and significant economic burden on a business, nor will they directly restrict the formation, operation or expansion of a business. As proposed, the Permit and Service Fee schedule would be updated based upon the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U), compounded annually since the fee schedule was adopted in 2018. Operational permits would be increased from $80.00 to $109.00 and inspections would be increased from an $80.00 flat rate per inspection to a variable rate ranging from $109.00 to $1090.00, which is determined by the building’s square footage and the average time required to complete the inspection.
